Apple AppStore

ioda is available on the AppStore since the 5th January 2011. It is an historical date for us. ioda is available for iPod/iPhone/iPad with iOS-4.2. Note that it is probably the first HEP application that can be delivered so easily in this way (at least the first one that can read CERN/ROOT files !). Some kind of giant step for us.

The application had been developed on an iPod touch and now on a Christmas-iPad. (How Santa guessed ?)

Android Market

ioda is available on the Android Market for devices with at least Android-2.0. The upper "giant step" remark applies here too. It had been heavily tested on a Samsung Galaxy S under Android-2.1. Note that the ioda-release.apk is also available from the download area.

Cocoa (Mac desktop)

On a Mac, download and unzip the ioda.app.zip, then click on the ioda icon (or do : open ioda.app, from a terminal). Remember that data files are searched within the directory :

     ~/Documents/ioda

For example put here a .aida file from the download/data area. In ioda go under "files/.aida" and select the file. Then choose one of the presented object to plot it. Remember also that there is a "meta area" at the bottom of the window that permits to return to menus. The overall comportement of the application is similar than the one on the "smart devices" (smart phones, tablets) and all can be done with one mouse button. (By default the window has a width of 990 pixels and a height of 700 pixels. Then it is "A4 landscape").

Linux desktop

On a Linux desktop, download and unzip a kit matching your platform :

     ioda-<version>-Linux-<processor>-<compiler>.zip

You can launch the application from a shell prompt with :

     UNIX> <install path>/ioda/<version>/bin/ioda

Remember that data files are searched within the directory :

     ~/Documents/ioda

The overall comportement of the application is similar than the one on the smart devices and all can be done with one mouse button.

When launching the application, you can pass the options :

By default the window width is 700 pixels and it's height is 990 pixels (A4 portrait). For example to launch "as an iPad landscape" :

     UNIX> <some path>/ioda -iPad -land

Windows desktop

On a Windows desktop, download and unzip the kit :

     ioda-<version>-Windows_NT-<processor>-<compiler>.zip

You can launch the application from a DOS prompt with :

     DOS> <install path>\ioda\<version>\bin\ioda.exe

but also by clicking on the ioda.exe icon from the Windows file explorer. Remember that data files are searched within the directory :

     C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Documents\ioda

The overall comportement of the application is similar than the one on the smart devices and all can be done with one mouse button.

If starting from a DOS prompt, you can pass the options

By default the window width is 700 pixels and it's height is 990 pixels (A4 portrait).
